Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre

The Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre is located at 40 Cross Street in the historic and picturesque hamlet of Port Robinson. This charming former school house serves as the local community centre. The hall in this location is an ideal venue for small events such as banquets, receptions, club and business meetings, program activities and other social occasions. 

The City of Thorold handles all bookings and inquiries, but the space is managed by the Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Centre Board of Management. For more information about visit our Boards of Management page.  

 

Booking the Hall

The maximum capacity of this venue is 80-85 people without tables and chairs and 60-65 people with tables and chairs. Alcohol is not permitted in the facility.

Once we receive your application, we will confirm whether the hall is available and let you know if your permit has been approved. If your permit is approved, you will receive a copy along with the total amount owing and payment instructions. Payment must be received at least 7 days in advance of your rental date. Any changes or cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance to be eligible for a refund.

  • Service window accessible through the kitchen overlooking the hall

  • General cleaning supplies (mop, bucket, soap, broom) 
  • Commercial kitchen with preparation area and fridges *

*Cooking (with kitchen appliances) is prohibited unless proper insurance is obtained. This must be discussed with staff prior to approval of permit. 

Amenities not provided: Table linens, audio-visual equipment (or accessories), T.V.

Hourly Rate: $25*  |  Daily Rate: $150*

Payment instructions for approved permits are as follows:

  • Please do not pay until you receive a copy of the approved permit, which will be sent by a City of Thorold staff member.
  • Please have your permit number ready when making a payment. Tell staff you want to pay for Permit #xxxx.

All rentals are required to have insurance. Permit holders may provide a copy of their Certificate of Insurance (COI) to staff prior to rental, naming the City of Thorold as an additional insured and confirming a minimum of $2 million in liability coverage.  Alternatively, permit holders may purchase insurance through the City for an additional fee, which will be applied to their permit. 

Renters who do not provide or comply with the insurance requirements listed above, will automatically be charged a fee for insurance.

To pay for an Organization or League go to "My Account". Under Organization Services select "View Details" and enter payment amount.

Payments will be accepted in person Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm., excluding holidays.
