How did residents or businesses participate in the Community Clean-up?
Residents, businesses, organizations, schools, and community partners were invited to join the City of Thorold on Earth Day by hosting their own community clean-up. Volunteers were encouraged to pick-up litter along sidewalks, parks, and trails in the City.
- They emailed event@thorold.ca to let us know the area they planned on cleaning and identified a garbage collection point for City staff afterward.
- We added the clean-up map to our website with a meeting location and time so other members of the community could join the clean up.
- On the morning of Saturday, April 25, clean-up leaders visited the Earth Day event to collect free supplies like gloves and garbage bags from City staff.
- Following the community clean-up, City staff collected bags of trash at pick-up points.
