Temporary Road Closure - Towpath Road - August 13 to 14
Towpath Road in the City of Thorold will be closed on Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Temporary Road Closures - Kottmeier Road and Port Robinson Road : August 13
On Thursday, August 13, Kottmeier Road between Port Robinson Road and Turner Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and Port Robinson Road between Cataract Road and Merrittville Highway from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Please be advised that sections of Kottmeier Road, between Port Robinson Road and Turner Road, and Port Robinson Road, between Cataract Road and Merrittville Highway, will be temporarily closed to facilitate speed hump installation.
Towpath Road in the City of Thorold will be closed on Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The City has identified and prioritized several locations within the urban road and pedestrian network as the highest-priority candidates for the annual Urban Roads Resurfacing Program. These locations were selected based on pavement condition assessments, safety requirements, pedestrian accessibility needs, and coordination with other capital works taking place throughout the urban area.
Please be advised that a section of the Welland Canal Trail in Thorold, located Southeast of E.S. Fox Limited near Egerter Road, will be temporarily closed to facilitate trail resurfacing.
On Tuesday, August 11, Hansler Rd. will be closed between Beaverdams Rd. and Holland Rd. from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement.
Bridge 11 (Hwy 20) will be closed on Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to bridge and road maintenance.
On Monday, August 10, Decew Rd. will be closed between Abbey Dr. and Richmond St. from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement.
From Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14, 2026, eligible City of Thorold residents will receive enhanced curbside garbage collection services for flood-related waste on scheduled collection days. Eligible properties are identified in specified maps.
To support residents impacted by the recent flooding, flood related material or waste can be disposed of curbside from Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 14, on your regularly scheduled collection day, for properties located in the following urban areas. Please reference the maps.
To facilitate site servicing and construction, the Allanburg Community Park will be closed starting Tuesday, August 4.
