Temporary Road Closure : Barron Rd : October 7

Hydro One has temporarily closed down a section of Barron Road from Glover Road to Polloway Road on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. This is due to Hydro maintenance in the area.

Allanburg Bridge 11 Closure : October 13 to November 11

The bridge will be fully closed to traffic Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. from October 13 to November 11. The bridge will reopen evenings and weekends. 
During the closure, traffic will be detoured via the Thorold Tunnel and the East Main Tunnel.

Temporary Road Closure : Sullivan Avenue : October 2

Sullivan Avenue from Towpath Street to Front Street temporarily closed on Friday, October 2 and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. 

Temporary Road Closure : Crompton Blvd starting September 9

To complete the work safely, Crompton Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Richmond Street to the south end of Crompton Boulevard. Bolton Avenue will remain open to traffic through the Crompton Boulevard intersection. Richmond Street and Queen Street will also remain open.

  • Connecting businesses with funding opportunities, strategic resources, and partner organizations
  • Conducting research, strategic planning, and advocacy to support informed decision-making and economic growth
  • Promoting tourism, destination development, and visitor experiences

The City is currently developing an Economic Development and Tourism Strategy (2027-2032) that will provide a roadmap for business growth, investment attraction, workforce development, tourism development, and long-term community prosperity.

The Strategy will focus on opportunities in key sectors including advanced manufacturing, clean technology, marine and port industries, logistics and transportation, tourism, and emerging technologies such as defence and advanced technology.
