Temporary Road Closures at Sullivan Ave and Towpath St. starting September 21
The Sullivan Avenue and Towpath Street intersection is scheduled to close on Monday, September 21 at 6:00 a.m. for approximately two weeks.
These temporary road closures will affect access to on-street parking near the intersection and Parking Lot 1 as the construction progresses along Sullivan Avenue. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Temporary Road Closure : Crompton Blvd starting September 9
To complete the work safely, Crompton Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Richmond Street to the south end of Crompton Boulevard. Bolton Avenue will remain open to traffic through the Crompton Boulevard intersection. Richmond Street and Queen Street will also remain open.
Bridge 11 (Hwy 20) will be closed on Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to bridge and road maintenance. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic are prohibited.
The City of Thorold Commemorative Bench and Tree Program provides individuals and organizations the opportunity to purchase a bench or tree in memory of a loved one. Benches and/or trees can be placed within parks, cemeteries open spaces, waterfront and trails owned and managed by the City of Thorold subject to City approval.

The City of Thorold offers a selection of trees for applicants to choose from. Tree selection may be restricted based on preferred location, availability and environmental suitability.

The City of Thorold offers a selection of trees for applicants to choose from. Tree selection may be restricted based on preferred location, availability and environmental suitability.
The policy applies to bench and tree commemorations within parks, cemeteries open spaces, waterfront and trails owned and managed by the City of Thorold and as approved by the Community Services Department.
The primary objective of the Policy is to provide the parameters and guidelines for citizens to participate in a Commemorative Bench and/or Commemorative Tree Program within the City’s green spaces including parks, cemeteries waterfront and trails. This policy will provide appropriate oversight and understanding of administration and maintenance responsibilities to preserve the City’s parks, cemeteries, waterfront and trails.
Commemorative Bench with Plaque included: $3,125 + HST
Bench Maintenance Fee (Reserve fund): $250 + HST
Commemorative Tree: $750 + HST
Corian Plaque Added: $300 + HST
