Third Party Skating Programs

Experience one of Canada’s favourite Canadian traditions—skating. The City of Thorold is proud to partner with local community organizations that offer a variety of hockey and figure skating programs for children, youth, and adults at the Thorold Community Arena and Canada Games Park Arenas.

Whether you are learning to skate for the first time, developing hockey fundamentals, or advancing your figure skating skills, our community partners provide programs for a wide range of ages and abilities.

Registration and Program Information

Program registration, schedules, fees, and availability are managed directly through each community partner organization. Participants are encouraged to contact the organizations directly below for the most current program information.

Thorold Minor Hockey, operated by the Thorold Amateur Athletic Association (TAAA), is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to helping young athletes develop hockey skills in both recreational and competitive environments. Programs focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun for players of all experience levels.

Programs may include:

  • Learn-to-play hockey
  • House league hockey
  • Representative hockey
  • Skill development clinics
  • Power skating programs

The Thorold Skating Centre offers Skate Canada-sanctioned programs for skaters of all ages and abilities. As a non-profit skating club affiliated with Skate Ontario and Skate Canada, the club provides high-quality instruction in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Programs may include:

  • CANSkate (Learn to Skate)
  • STARSkate figure skating
  • Introductory figure skating
  • Skills and development sessions
  • Adult skating programs
