Please be advised that City contractor, Beam Excavating Ltd. is planning a temporary water shut-off that will affect businesses and residences on Sullivan Avenue on Tuesday, October 27.

A private developer will be temporarily closing a portion of Centre St., in Thorold to install water services for a new development located at 2248 Centre St. on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Hansler Road will be temporarily closed between Holland Road and Highway 20 crossroads from on Wednesday, October 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be asphalt repairs and a culvert replacement in two different locations on the same stretch of road. 

This Public Notice provides an update on the ongoing construction and road closures on Crompton Boulevard and Bolton Avenue.

Hydro One will continue to temporarily close a section of Barron Road from Glover Road to Polloway Road on Thursday, October 22, 2026. This is due to a power outage in the area.

Sullivan Avenue from Towpath Street to Front Street temporarily closed on Friday, October 2 and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. The City contractor is continuing to replace aging underground infrastructure and reconstructing the roadway within downtown Thorold.

The Pine Street and Sullivan Avenue intersection will be closed due to construction work being completed by the City’s contractor. The closure will begin on Monday, September 28 at 7:00 a.m., and the intersection is expected to reopen on Tuesday, September 29 at approximately 6:00 p.m., subject to weather and site conditions.

Please be advised that there will be a temporary road closure on Alexandria Drive from Tuesday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between Kottmeier Road and Legacy Lane.

Bridge 11 (Hwy 20) will be closed on Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to bridge and road maintenance. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic are prohibited. 

The Sullivan Avenue and Towpath Street intersection is scheduled to close on Monday, September 21 at 6:00 a.m. for approximately two weeks. The contractor is replacing aging underground infrastructure and reconstructing the roadway within downtown Thorold.
