Temporary Road Closures at Sullivan Ave and Towpath St. starting September 21
The Sullivan Avenue and Towpath Street intersection is scheduled to close on Monday, September 21 at 6:00 a.m. for approximately two weeks.
These temporary road closures will affect access to on-street parking near the intersection and Parking Lot 1 as the construction progresses along Sullivan Avenue. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Temporary Road Closure : Crompton Blvd starting September 9
To complete the work safely, Crompton Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Richmond Street to the south end of Crompton Boulevard. Bolton Avenue will remain open to traffic through the Crompton Boulevard intersection. Richmond Street and Queen Street will also remain open.
Bridge 11 (Hwy 20) closure is rescheduled to Thursday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to bridge and road maintenance. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic are prohibited.
A multi-day Heat Alert has been issued by Environment Canada with temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius. Widespread wildfire smoke and hot humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category. Please be advised that those seeking a cool place can visit the Thorold Community Arena from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. this week.
Towpath Road in City of Thorold will be closed Monday, July 13 to Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
At 3:30 p.m. today, there was a water main break on Commerford St. The water is currently off on Commerford St. and Rannie Crt. up to Buchanan Cres. while we fix the situation.
Road closures are currently in effect east of Ormond Street due to safety concerns.
Residents may also experience roaming power outages throughout Thorold.
Lakeview Cemetery and Thorold Community Pool are closed.

Grisdale Rd. and Towpath Rd.are temporarily closed at the Wilson Dr. intersection starting Monday, June 29, 2026.
There will be a scheduled Hydro One power outage for 2 West Central Zone in Thorold on Monday, June 22 from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. for regular maintenance.
Front St. N. is temporarily closed from Albert St. to Regent St.
The Highway 20 (Bridge 11) will be closed on Thursday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
