This Public Notice provides an update on the ongoing construction and road closures on Crompton Boulevard and Bolton Avenue.

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy has notified the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that it wishes to undertake a harvest for white-tailed deer in Short Hills Provincial Park.

Sullivan Avenue from Towpath Street to Front Street temporarily closed on Friday, October 2 and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. The City contractor is continuing to replace aging underground infrastructure and reconstructing the roadway within downtown Thorold.

The Thorold Community Arena will be opening for the upcoming season. Programming with some new additional skating times will be available starting Tuesday, October 13.

Please be advised that the City’s retained contractor, Stonecast Landscapes Ltd., will be starting the Winslow Crescent Watermain Replacement Project between Sullivan Avenue and Michigan Avenue in the coming weeks.

As part of this construction work, OZA Inspections Ltd. will first need to complete a pre-construction survey and inspection of residents’ properties to document the current condition of homes before construction begins.

The Government of Canada and the Federation of Canadian  Municipalities’ (FCM) Growing Canada’s Community Canopies (GCCC) initiative approved a grant of $87,500 to expand the Carolinian Forest ecosystem at Lakeview Cemetery. Announced in May 2024, GCCC will support the planting of at least 1.2 million new trees across Canada by the end of March 2031 while offering funding, resources and coaching to communities.

The City of Thorold is hosting a Public Information Centre (PIC) to gather feedback from residents regarding the proposed improvements at McMillan Park.

Please be advised that the City’s retained contractor, Demar Construction, will be starting the Pamela Drive Watermain Replacement Project between Lawrence Drive and Sullivan Avenue in the coming weeks.

City of Thorold administrative offices will be closed for the Labour Day Holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The Thorold Community Pool will be open for the Labour Day Holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for an extended public swim and officially close for the season on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. 

The proposed park construction and amenities plans to provide a safe, inclusive play area with a fun water play area for residents, children, families, and individuals of all abilities, while enhancing the Port Robinson West history.
