Notice of Public Meeting for a proposed Official Plan Amendment in accordance with Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. To facilitate the development of a residential subdivision located at 436 Quaker Rd., this application would allow the owner to proceed with development prior to the completion of Phase 2 of the Subwatershed Study. 

The City of Thorold is repurposing the old Fire Station #1 into a Museum & Cultural Centre with community gathering spaces and new exhibits on City of Thorold’s rich history. It is starting the interpretive planning and exhibit design process by welcoming ideas from residents at a Public Information Centre (PIC). 

The City of Thorold is pleased to announce that the Thorold Community Pool and its onsite splash pad will open for the season on Saturday, June 20, with the first Public Swim beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The 2026 Final Tax Bill will be mailed on or before June 9, 2026. 

Thorold voters will now elect six (6) City Councillors and a Mayor when they vote in the 2026 municipal election, replacing the current structure of eight (8) Councillors and a Mayor.

Take notice that at its meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Council of the Thorold has passed By-law No. 37-2026 to designate the St. Johns Common School and the Street/Haney/Miller Mill, municipally known as 3054 Orchard Hill Drive, as properties of cultural heritage value or interest under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act.

A Zoning By-law Amendment Application has been submitted to rezone the Subject Lands, Phases 17 and 19-22, in the Rolling Meadows Secondary Plan area.

The City of Thorold is currently undertaking a review of its Residential Rental Licensing (RRL) By-law to identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance administrative efficiency, and improve the overall operation of the RRL program.
