Events and Programs
The City of Thorold offers several exciting Community Events throughout the year. In addition to municipal events, many community groups also plan community events and programs throughout the year like the Story Walk & Easter Egg Hunt which was organized by the Thorold BIA, the Thorold Public Library and the Thorold Seniors Centre. The City is inviting residents to our Earth Day event on Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Thorold Community Arena. We are partnering with the Thorold Public Library and Thorold Community Activities Group.
We are also requesting residents, businesses, schools, and community partners to come out and help clean up litter along sidewalks, parks, and trails in the city.
The City is continuing our successful Community Market from June 5 to September 4 with a Grand Finale on September 14, located at the Battle of Beaverdams Park. This year, we are hosting the Thorold BIA Classic Car Show. This is a fully licensed event with fresh local produce, artisans and live music.
The Niagara Jazz Festival presented by TD Ready Commitment will kick-off a three-day spectacular weekend starting on Saturday, June 29. These free festivities will continue on Sunday, June 30 with the City of Thorold’s popular Rock ‘N Blues on the Battlefield event and close with fireworks at the Canada Day celebrations on Monday, July 1. All of these events will take place from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Battle of Beaverdams Park. We hope to see everyone out enjoying the festivities on Canada Day weekend in the City of Thorold.
Dress up warm and join us each year for the last Saturday evening in November at 4:30 p.m. Residents are invited to celebrate the holidays with a spectacular parade through the Downtown core with many free giveaways from local sponsors.
