Our Community Centre's are public locations where members of our community can gather for civil marriage ceremonies, group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. They are a safe space that is open for the whole community and for a specialized group within the greater community.

The Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre is located at 40 Cross Street in the historic and picturesque hamlet of Port Robinson. This charming former school house serves as the local community centre. The Centre’s hall is an ideal venue for small events such as banquets, receptions, club and business meetings, program activities and other social occasions. The hall can only hold a maximum of 80-85 people without tables and chairs and 60-65 people with tables and chairs. Please note: Alcohol is not permitted in the facility at this time or in the near future. Once your application is received we will confirm the halls availability and then communicate if your permit application is approved or not able to be accommodated. Upon permit approval you will be sent a copy of the approved permit with the total amount owed and instructions for payment. Payments are due 7 days in advance of your rental and any changes to the rental or cancellations must be made 7 day in advance in order to qualify for a refund. Permit applications can be downloaded at the button below.

Please note: Insurance fees will automatically apply for renters who do not provide their own certificate of insurance naming The City of Thorold as an additionally insured for a minimum of $2,000,000 liability. Insurance fees vary based on rental details and number of guests and are typically $27 or less for most events. Please contact community.services@thorold.ca for details.

Allanburg Community Centre - CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS |
The Allanburg Community Centre is closed for renovations. Any questions or concerns can be emailed to Community Services at community.services@thorold.ca The Allanburg Community Centre is located in the historic Community of Allanburg located at 1560 Falls St. near the Allanburg lift bridge. The Centre’s hall is an ideal venue for medium size events such as banquets, receptions, club and business meetings, program activities and other social occasions. The hall can accommodate a maximum of 150 people without tables or chairs. Please note: Alcohol is not permitted in the facility at this time or in the near future. The kitchen is not being rented out until further notice as the appliances are currently non-functional.
