Stay Cool in the City of Thorold during the Heat Alert

Due to the Heat Alert issued by Environment Canada today, please be advised that those seeking a cool place can visit the Thorold Public Library from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday to Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. For cooling station access, please use the Ormond Street entrance.

The splash pads across the entire municipality will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

The Thorold Community Pool is open for public swims, lane swims and 55+ swims, please view our online swim schedule.

Relax under the shade trees at one of our outdoor community parks.

Please be reminded:

Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.
Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Lakeview Cemetery - No power on July 22 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please be advised that the Lakeview Cemetery Administrative Office and Mausoleum will be without power on Tuesday, July 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. due to necessary hydro upgrades.

The Mausoleum will remain open to the public during this time; however, please note that there will be no air conditioning or lighting available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this essential work is carried out.
