Mayor Terry Ugulini
Terry Ugulini was born and raised in the City of Thorold and has been married to Jane (nee Wilcox) for 40 years. They have two children, Jaclyn and Justin.
Terry was elected as Mayor in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Prior to that, Terry served as a Thorold City Councillor from 2014–2018. He is actively involved at the committee level and serves as the City’s liaison to the Thorold Seniors Centre Association.
In his role as Regional Councillor, Terry currently sits on the Public Works and Planning and Economic Development Standing Committees, as well as the Waste Management Planning Steering Committee.
Terry is a graduate of Mohawk College’s Instrumentation and Control Program (Deans Honour List). Before starting his political career, he retired from Resolute Forest Products, Thorold Division, after 26 years as an Instrumentation and Control Technician. Terry is a member of Skilled Trades Ontario and previously served 22 years as President/Business Manager of IBEW: Local 914.
An active volunteer and member of our Community, Terry was a long time minor hockey coach and is an avid cyclist who particularly enjoys riding in the Big Move Cancer Ride. He has worked on many fundraising initiatives for sports teams and local charities and is a member of many organizations/service groups, including the Canal Bank Shuffle Blues Festival, Club Capri, Royal Canadian Legion: Branch 17, Canadian Corps: Unit #44, Friends of Beaverdams Church and the Thorold Senior Centre Association.
As Mayor, Terry is dedicated to continue to deliver results that will move the City in a positive direction and make the City of Thorold the best place to live, work, invest in and raise a family.
