When someone is feeling alone, maybe considering suicide, wants to reach out and connect with another human being, it is important to provide services to meet their needs. This means more than just emergency departments. In Niagara, our comprehensive and coordinated crisis response system incorporates mobile teams, safe beds and direct links to mental health and addictions services in our community. |
Crisis Outreach and Support Team - The Niagara Regional Police Service |
The Niagara Regional Police Service Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST) provide outreach and support to Niagara residents who are in crisis with mental health issues. The team is comprised of health care professionals and Niagara Regional Police Officers who are trained in mental health and crisis intervention. |
