Library

Thorold Public Library was established in 1895. Starting out with a collection of only 4,000 print items, the library's collection has increased to include more than 80,000 items including DVDs, Comic Books, Video Games, Magazines and more! The Library is more than books!

The Library strives to provide programming for a variety of ages covering a broad range of topics and interests.

It is a place to:

  • Build a robot
  • Learn how to repair a washing machine, build a deck, crochet a blanket
  • Make a craft with your friends
  • Download an audiobook, ebook or magazine
  • Take a picture or film a movie in front of a green screen and edit it
  • Watch a movie or borrow one to enjoy at home
  • Learn how to use a sewing machine and embroider
  • Cultivate a garden
  • Make a healthy meal and much more!

Library Services include:

  • WiFi and Internet computers with word processing (Thorold Public Library Card required)
  • Laminating, photocopying, printing (Please contact the library for pricing)
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Outreach visits
  • Programmes (both in person and online)

1.  Thorold Public Library is part of Libraries in Niagara Cooperative (LiNC).  Borrow from five other libraries
     and Niagara College Libraries in the Niagara Region by using your Thorold Public Library Card!

2.  Thorold Public Library participates in Interlibrary Loan.  Borrow books from a Public Library across

3.  If you have a Thorold Public Library Card, you may receive a free card from Niagara Falls Public Library.
     To be eligible for a free library card from Niagara Falls Public Library, present a valid Thorold Public
     Library card, as well as, an official piece of identification with correct name and current address at the

How do I get a library Card?

A Thorold Public Library card is free for anyone in the Niagara Region. Individuals must present one piece of valid identification such as a Driver's License or two pieces of identification like a valid Passport and a current Utility Bill.
