Overview
The City of Thorold is undertaking the design of the new watermain on Highway 20 from Barker Parkway (the Roundabout) to Highway 58 (Davis Road).
Design and approvals are expected to be completed in 2023 with construction scheduled for 2024. This watermain will provide an additional point of connection to the Rolling Meadows Subdivision(s) and provide water to highway commercial lands along Highway 20.
Impacted property owners will be contacted by the contractor individually during the design as it relates to the location of new servicing.
Process |
The study is being carried out as a Schedule ‘A+’ project in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class EA document (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 & 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. |
Public Engagement |
Consultation with the public, Indigenous Nations, regulatory agencies and stakeholders is important to the City of Thorold and a key element of the Class EA process. Project notifications will be issued at key milestones through advertisement that may include the City website, local newspapers, emails and mailings. A Public Information Centres (PIC) will be conducted prior to project implementation to inform the public. The PIC will provide an opportunity for the public to review the design, and understand impacts. |
