Volunteer Firefighters

Information sessions are designed to provide you with all the details you need to start your journey as a firefighter. In the Fall, we provide information sessions for a complete overview of Thorold Fire and Emergency Services, the recruitment process, and candidate expectations. 

All candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age;
  • Have a minimum "G " drivers license
  • Have minimum Grade 12 education; and
  • Live within the boundaries of the City of Thorold, and within the District they are applying for.

Once they are available, please email completed Application Forms to Bertha.Goucher@thorold.ca along with the following PDF/JPG documents:

  • Cover letter and Resume
  • Supporting documents such as copies of certificates, diplomas, transcript, etc. 

Personal information which you have provided will be used to help determine eligibility for appointment and is protected pursuant to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
