The City of Thorold responds to the National Mail Strike last Thursday, September 25, 2025
Due to a national strike by postal workers last Thursday, September 25, 2025, Canada Post operations are currently suspended. As a result, mail delivery and processing are impacted, which may affect Thorold residents, suppliers, and customers.
Important reminder: Payments are still due.
Despite the postal disruption, property owners and residents remain responsible to make payments by the due date for all City accounts. Late payments will incur regular penalties.
To avoid delays, we encourage you to:
- Register for e-billing
- Use online banking, in-person payments, or credit card payments via our website

PROPERTY TAXES
The final installment of 2025 property taxes was due on Friday, August 29, 2025, however, anyone who has received a supplemental bill may still have due dates of Friday, October 31, 2025 and Friday, November 28, 2025. We are advising residents not to mail their property tax payments, instead tax payments can be made via online banking, your financial institution, or through our website with your credit card or in person at City Hall. WATER BILLS
Water bill payments are due as scheduled, even if the physical bill is not received. Residents can sign up for e-billing to receive their water bills electronically. Payments to your water account can be made via online banking, your financial institution, or through our website with your credit card or in person at City Hall. Customers must pay amounts due by the due date indicated on the invoice. Payments can be made via online banking, your financial institution, or through our website with your credit card or in person at City Hall. SUPPLIERS
Cheques will be available for pickup at City Hall by providing valid photo identification at the time of pickup. Please email ap@thorold.ca to arrange for a pickup or if you have any questions regarding your payment. Any outstanding cheque payments will be mailed once postal services resume.
