Notice of Work on Glendale Avenue Bridge

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) advises the public of upcoming closures of the Glendale Avenue Bridge (Bridge 5) in St. Catharines to complete important inspection and maintenance work.

Bridge Closure Schedule

Partial Day Closures

Monday, October 27 to Thursday, October 30

Closure time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily The bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic during these hours and will reopen each evening after 5 p.m.

Full Day Closures

Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 14

The bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic continuously, both day and night, during this period. These closures are required for inspection and maintenance work, including on the bridge’s concrete abutments, counterweights, and handrails. The work is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to ensure the bridge remains safe and reliable for years to come.

The SLSMC understands these closures may cause inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience while this work is carried out.
