Notice of PIC : Hayes Watermain Replacement

The City of Thorold is advancing the Hayes Road Watermain Project, which includes the installation of a new watermain along Hayes Road from Allanburg Road to the rail corridor to support existing and future servicing needs.

Date: May 19, 2026
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall, 3540 Schmon Pkwy, Thorold L2V 4A7

The project will improve system reliability and support planned growth. Works include a new 300 mm watermain connection to the Regional system, along with valves, hydrants, and appurtenances. Existing water service laterals will be transferred to the new watermain.

Construction is anticipated to begin in July 2026, following tender award and Council approval.

During construction, residents can expect temporary traffic adjustments, short-duration driveway interruptions (with advance notice), and typical construction activity, including the movement of heavy equipment. Temporary water service interruptions may occur during service connections.

This Public Information Centre (PIC) is intended to provide an overview of the project and upcoming construction, and to receive input related to construction considerations.
