Notice of PIC #1: Merritt Meadows Park Splash Pad & Basketball Court
Residents and stakeholders are hereby advised that the City of Thorold will be hosting a Public Information Centre (PIC #1) regarding the proposed construction of a new Splash Pad and Basketball Court at Merritt Meadows Park.
The purpose of this Public Information Centre is to present the preliminary Splash Pad and Basketball Court concept, including the proposed layout, features, and amenities, and to provide residents, park users, and interested parties with an opportunity to review the plans and share their feedback. Public input is an essential part of the design process and will help ensure that the final splashpad reflects the needs and preferences of the community (see location map below).

The Process
Following PIC #1, all comments and feedback received from residents and stakeholders will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by City staff. The input collected will assist the city in refining and finalizing the splashpad design and selecting the most suitable, cost-effective and desirable features.
Residents are strongly encouraged to participate either by attending the Public Information Centre in person or by submitting comments online within the specified comment period. All feedback received within the deadline will be considered prior to advancing the project to the detailed design and construction phase. Following the PIC and once the design is finalized, residents can stay informed by visiting and subscribing to the City’s Let’s Talk Thorold project page, where updates, final design information and project status will be posted. The project is anticipated to proceed to tender, with construction targeted for completion in 2026.
