Freezing Rain and Flood Warning for Wednesday, February 18

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a yellow warning for extensive rain and the high probability of freezing rain tomorrow. The Niagara Region is expecting 10 to 20 mm of rain which may lead to ice build-up of 2 to 5 mm in some areas and result in icy and slippery conditions. As a result, localized flooding and ponding of water in low-lying areas is possible.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. There is risk of injury due to slips and falls. Stay away from creeks, rivers and all waterbodies due to slippery slopes and elevated water levels. Ensure drainage is not hindered by blocked culverts, catch basins or ditches.
