Notice of Project Commencement : Kottmeier Road Park Second Phase

The public is hereby notified that the City has begun Phase 2 construction of Kottmeier Road Park in the Port Robinson West neighborhood of Thorold. The proposed park construction and amenities plans to provide a safe, inclusive play area with a fun water play area for residents, children, families, and individuals of all abilities, while enhancing the Port Robinson West history.

The parkland area is identified as a community park in the City of Thorold Parks Master Plan and is located in the Port Robinson West area. The scope of this project includes site preparation, parking lot construction, installation of water services, sanitary sewer leads, additional concrete walkway connections, installation of mini basketball nets, park benches, tree plantings, construction of a park sign, and the supply and installation of new splash pad features, playground equipment and adult fitness equipment. A concrete walkway will be constructed around the perimeter of the splash pad to provide easy access for pedestrians and park visitors.

To support the ongoing development and growth at the Port Robinson West neighbourhoods and to improve recreational opportunities for residents and families, a request for tender, and request for quotes were issued for the supply and installation of the splashpad, playground and adult fitness equipment at the park. The design reflects feedback received during the Public Information Centre, where residents chose their preferred park play and water feature equipment for the park.

The anticipated completion date is the end of 2026.
