2023 Award Recipients

Tom Blazina was awarded the 2023 Thorold Senior of the Year

Tom Blazina is a dedicated volunteer with the Thorold Amateur Athletic Association (TAAA), where over the last few decades he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to minor hockey.

He has been instrumental in empowering youth to participate in local athletic activities, making a lasting impact on many in the community.

“I’ve known Tommie for a long time,” Mayor Terry Ugulini told the gathered crowd. “One thing that really stood out for me is when he took the juvenile program by the boot straps. He singlehandedly took it up and made it a success. Now today we have an U21 team that’s been outstanding. It would have never happened without the work he did.”
