Thorold Pool Guidelines

 Leisure Swims - Public Swim, Family Swim
  1. Patrons can reserve spots by pre-registering online or by phone. Due to high call volumes, phone registration will be limited. In order to maintain social distancing, swimming spots cannot be guaranteed. 
  2. Please arrive "Pool Ready". We kindly ask that patrons wear bathing attire to pool in order to avoid long wait times. 
  3. Lockers will be unavailable until further notice. Patrons will have the option to place personal belongings in designated areas outside the perimeter of the pool. The City of Thorold is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
  4. Masks must be worn upon entering the lobby, washrooms and change rooms. Masks can only be removed once outside and a distance of three meters can be maintained.
  5. Toys will not be available for public use.
  6. It is the responsibility of pool guests to ensure they are maintaining a three meter distance from others (with exception of members of their own household). 
  7. Patrons may not bring toys or equipment to the facility with the exception of goggles. 
  8. Patrons will not be permitted to the pool prior to the start of their swim time. Please arrive at the designated time of your swim. 
  9. Patrons are asked to arrive within the first 15 minutes of the registered swim. Doors will be locked between swim programs to limit the number of patrons in the facility. 
  10. Credit card or debit is the preferred method of payment. 
 Lane Swim

  5. Limited equipment will be available for use. Flutter boards and pull buoys will be available. 
  6. Lane swim will be limited to one household per lane. Patrons who register online can invite one other person within their personal "bubble" to share the lane.

 Parent and Tot/ Preschool Swim Lessons
  1. Participants can register for swimming lessons online.
  2. Parents/ Guardians must be present for the duration of the class.
  3. Parent and Tot classes require parents attend the program in the water. 
  4. Parents may accompany their child in the water for Preschool lessons if they choose.  
  5. Each registered participant may only have one parent/ guardian attend in water. A spectator area will be available for one additional parent and siblings. 
  6. Lockers will be unavailable until further notice. Patrons will have the option to place personal belongings in designated areas outside the perimeter of the pool. The City of Thorold is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  8. Children in preschool levels will be spaced two meters apart. Classes will have two instructors present to ensure children are socially distanced and safe
  9. If a participant is not maintaining social distancing they may be asked to leave. 
  10. Participants are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to scheduled lesson to sign in.
 Swimmer 1/2
  1. Participants can register for swimming lessons online.
  2. Parents/ Guardians must be available during the program
  3. Parents/ Guardians may accompany children in the water if they choose to do so. 
  4. Each registered participant may only have one parent/ guardian attend in water. A spectator area will be available for one additional parent and siblings.
  5. Lockers will be unavailable until further notice. Patrons will have the option to place personal belongings in designated areas outside the perimeter of the pool. The City of Thorold is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  1. Participants can register for swimming lessons online.
  2. Instructors will maintain a three meter distance from participants for the majority of the class.
  3. Lessons will take place in deep water. Non-Swimmers are not permitted in these levels. 
  4. Participants must have the ability to complete a facility swim test. Non-swimmers will be required to register for their appropriate level.  
  5. Lockers will be unavailable until further notice. Patrons will have the option to place personal belongings in designated areas outside the perimeter of the pool. The City of Thorold is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
  6. Masks must be worn upon entering the lobby, washrooms and change rooms. Masks can only be removed once outside and a distance of three meters can be maintained. 
  7. Swimmers may be asked to leave if they are not socially distancing themselves from others. 
  8. Participants are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to scheduled lesson to sign in.
 Advanced Aquatics
  1. Participants can register for advanced aquatic program online.
  2. Instructors will maintain a three meter distance from participants for the majority of the class.
  3. Participants may be required to swim within three meters of others without PPE for examination purposes. Close contact will not exceed one minute. 
  4. Lockers will be unavailable until further notice. Patrons will have the option to place personal belongings in designated areas outside the perimeter of the pool. The City of Thorold is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
  5. Masks must be worn upon entering the lobby, washrooms and change rooms. Masks can only be removed once outside and a distance of three meters can be maintained. 
  6. Participants are asked to bring multiple masks in case one gets wet.  
  7. Participants are asked to arrive 15 early on first day of course. 
  8. Participants must not share equipment during program.
  9. Participants are asking to bring the following items:
    • pocket mask
    • writing materials (pens, notepad)
    • goggles
    • bathing attire
    • towel
    • It is recommended that participants bring a face shield
