Community Partners and Skating Programs
Learn to Skate and be part of the Community
Part of the fun of living in Canada is our love of winter sports. One of our favourite past times is skating; outdoors or indoors. In the City of Thorold skating lessons are offered for all levels at our Frank Doherty Community Arena and the two Canada Games Park Arenas; Algoma Central Ice Rink and GFL Environmental Ice Rink. Once your child is comfortable on their skates, they can join our hockey or figure skating clubs to stay active and build a network of lifelong friends.
Thorold Minor Hockey
The Thorold Amateur Athletic Association is a volunteer driven organization that has been dedicated to helping young hockey players develop skills and enjoy the sport at a recreational and competitive level.
They offer various programs for children and youth looking to develop hockey and skating skills.
Thorold Skating Centre
We offer CANSkate (learn to skate) and STARSkate (figure skating) programs for all ages and abilities. We are a non-profit skating club sanctioned under Skate Ontario and Skate Canada and are in our 74th season.
