Brooklyn Yungblut has been selected as the City of Thorold’s 2022 Holiday Colouring Contest winner.
Over the month of December, children across the city were invited to select one of three colouring sheets to colour and submit to the City’s community services department. Brooklyn used traditional green and brown holiday tones, gave her reindeer a festive red and green checkered scarf, and was drawn as this year’s winner.
Brooklyn’s mom Allison shares that her daughter has always had a love for colouring and drawing pictures. “We are so proud of Brooklyn,” she says. “The girls really enjoyed entering the contest this year.”
Brooklyn is one of Allison and husband Trevor’s three daughters. Brooklyn’s sister Ellie also participated in the colouring contest.
“Thank you to all contestants for participating in our Holiday Colouring Contest this year,” says Mayor Terry Ugulini. “We had excellent entries submitted and a job well done by all. Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Brooklyn!”
When asked what the holidays mean to her, six-year-old Brooklyn says, “lots of happiness and love, and spending time with my family.”
Brooklyn and her parents have been invited to City Hall next week to be presented with her certificate and prize.
