Notice of Public Meeting #2: Development Charges By-law

Take notice that on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the Council of The Corporation of the City of Thorold will hold an additional Public Meeting pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, to review splitting the non-residential rate into two separate rates for Commercial/Institutional and Industrial. 

Development charges are levied against new development, and are a primary source of funding for development-related capital expenditures. The 2024 Development Charges Background Study, is available on the City’s Website.

Council is required under the Development Charges Act, 1997, to hold at least one public meeting to allow the public the opportunity to review and provide comments on the 2024 Development Charges Background Study, related staff reports and the draft development charges By-law.

All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting and any person who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed by-law and background study.

Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.

Thorold City Hall, 3540, Schmon Parkway, Thorold

Written submissions will be accepted up until Monday, May 27, 2024 at 4:30 p.m., and can be sent to the City Clerk via email or mail to P.O. Box 1044 Thorold, ON  L2V 4A7.
