City of Thorold welcomes visitors for 3 days of music and family fun

The City of Thorold is excited to welcome visitors to their 3-day weekend of free music and family fun in Battle of Beaverdams Park to celebrate Canada Day and our 50^th anniversary.

Niagara Jazz Festival presented by TD Ready Commitment will kick-off the celebrations on Sunday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be two stages of International music; the OLG Fiesta Stage and the BCM Groove Garden Stage. Free dance lessons will be offered in between performances.

The festivities will continue with the popular Rock ‘n Blues on the Battlefield on Monday, June 30 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pretzel Logic, Orangeman and Blackburn Brothers will be rocking the Bandshell stage. We will continue celebrating on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1 from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. The day will begin with a special guest appearance from a local Elvis impersonator and a talented magician for the kids. The Country Junkies, The Figure Four Band and Vinyl Flux will perform their favourite songs and end the evening with a spectacular show of free fireworks.

A fun Kids Zone will be available at Rock ‘n Blues on the Battlefield and Canada Day with inflatables, face painters, a bubble and foam party. Look for the large inflatable rainbow by the playground. 

All three days of free music will include artisans, community booths, and food vendors. The entire park is licensed. Dogs are not permitted in the park. Please bring lawn chairs.

As part of our 50^th celebration, we will display a Wall of Reflection with photos of Thorold past and present and a massive Anniversary card for guests to sign. We will also have special 50^th anniversary merchandise available for purchase at the bar. We hope to see everyone out to enjoy the celebrations on the Canada Day long weekend in the City of Thorold.
