Sullivan Park and Splash Pad

Earlier this year, Council voted to replace the existing splash pad and playground equipment at Sullivan Park. The City began construction on the park in July and is pleased to officially open it up to the public this Friday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 50 Elgin Street.

The new playground features large and colourful play structures with multiple slides and a climbing wall, rubberized surface, benches, a smaller play structure with a slide for younger children, and a swing set. The new splash pad features five fumbling buckets, a directional water jet, a waterbug, a bollard activator, a geyser, and a flower spray.

“We’re thrilled to share that the playground and splash pad is officially re-opened” says Mayor Terry Ugulini. “I want to extend my gratitude to City Staff for their hard work and dedication over the past year, ensuring that the newly designed Sullivan Park and Splash Pad are ready for the Community to enjoy!”

The playground equipment is situated on top of a soft landing rubberized surface, ensuring a secure and cushioned play area for children. Additionally, a concrete walkway equipped with benches encircles the play area, providing parents and caregivers with a comfortable spot to relax and watch their children play.

“The re-opening of the new playground and splash pad at Sullivan Park aligns with the City’s ongoing efforts to create more vibrant and inclusive neighbourhoods, as outlined in our current strategic plan,” says Manoj Dilwaria, Chief Administrative Officer. “This new park is an ideal spot for families in our community to enjoy outdoor family recreation time”.
