Street Sweeping
Street Sweeping
Our Public Works staff help to keep our City streets clean and free of dirt and debris. The City typically begins the annual street sweeping program every spring after the last major snowfall.
The City performs street sweeping on a neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood basis, sectioned into 7 areas total. Each area takes approximately 10 business days to complete. The City’s street cleaning staff operate from Mondays to Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
When street sweeping measures are underway, updates will be provided on this webpage and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Residents are also encouraged to subscribe to our website's alerts to receive updates directly to their inbox.
The City’s street sweeping program operates from spring through to fall:
- Twice in the spring/summer, shortly after winter
- Twice in the summer/fall, generally around mid-October after the leaves have fallen
- Throughout the summer as needed
